Turn your speech into well-written text

I have a repetitive writing task that involves sharing feedback and then emailing it. I was duplicating and customizing a template in Apple Notes. Letterly has greatly sped up the process! Now I can record "messy" verbal thoughts on my iPhone or Safari, then apply a Custom Rewrite prompt that gets it right EVERY time. Even getting the prompt to format exactly the way I want was easy -- just a few tweaks.

The handoff between devices is seamless. The tech behind the scenes has worked flawlessly for me.

I kind of wish I'd bought 3 codes, but my older Mac can't run the newest version that includes custom rewrite templates. I REALLY appreciate that Letterly makes it super easy to switch devices in the account manager though. You aren't going to get burned if you don't like how it works on a device -- you can just switch it. If it comes back into the store, I will probably buy another code just to future proof my purchase for when I upgrade my Mac.

Overall it fits my needs. I could switch on multi speaker at the beginning of an offline recording and recorded a meeting of our old german scout guild for about 60 minutes. Different speakers were detected (3 times more than effectively there), and they sometimed spoke fragmented through each other, but when I stopped recording and uploaded it for transkription, I was impressed about what was recorded and transkripted. Then I used the meeting summary protocol feature. The result was ok, but lacking some final topic findings. Luckily there was an option for writing your own transformation prompt to advise the AI system on how to do. I wrote my own system prompt (in german) for the AI, tried and optimized it about 15 times. Now, the outcome is pretty amazing :-)
There are just 2 main points, which I miss so badly and could be improved:
1. Scrolling through the original transcription only via finger swipe up on such long transcription texts is boring. There should be implemented a better/alternative scroll methods.
2. Editing a transciption (deleting several characters und writing new text) does not stick the viewpoint on the typing, but scrolls some lines upward over an over again in most situations.
But overall it's a worthy tool.

This is a brilliant app. Easy to use and straightforward

Am using Letterly now for a week, used it 6 times. It's very comforting to know that someone is taking notes in live meetings and then give me the key pointers right after the meeting, to check if I have missed something + give me a headstart in organizing the follow-up. For me this is a typical example of AI enlighting your daily work.

Would be even better if we can also upload mp3 and have them transcribed afterwards on top of recording & transcribing live.

I like the various output structures. I also love the ability of Letterly to distinguish two separate speakers.

When I first tried it, it seemed like just another app doing the same thing. But after testing others, I came back and found the promise that recording duration would increase from 15 minutes to 90 minutes, and my limitation had been resolved. Now I have two subscriptions, and I'm thrilled.

The only thing left is to develop some integrations, especially the ability to create tasks automatically—that's my wish. Other than that, I'm happy to support the project and enjoy it.

Letterly is great for creating documentation—which is mainly what I use it for.

I spend time exploring the software I'm documenting, and when I need to add something, I just say it out loud. I’ve written custom prompts to help me get the output just right.

Having 90 minutes of recording time is fantastic.

Honestly, five tacos for me. I hope this tool sticks around forever and never gives us any heavy hearts because it really saves me a lot of time.

two features I wish the tool would have:

I wish there was a chat feature too, where I could send quick prompts without needing to create and save a custom prompt each time to get the output in a specific way.

I would also like a way to organize my custom prompts in folders.

I do dictate on the go, but I'm fed up with having to copy paste and email notes to myself.
I want to get access to a desktop dashboard where i can access all my recordings and notes and also link all these with some cloud or integrations. I don't want to have to unlink my accounts, every time is switch to desktop interface .
I don't want to record on desktop, only to access my notes. Can this be fixed please and DON'T force me to buy a second device licence ?
I'm likely going to return and refund.

I have been using Letterly ever since their first Appsumo deal, so probably for over a year. It is one of those apps I did end up using a lot; it is now in the tight group of my go-tos.

I had one license on my phone, and I created so much incredible content (including parts of my last book) just talking into my phone while walking my dog or running around doing chores. I am rarely that insightful sitting at my desk. So this was a life changer.

The AI editor is ok. I personally like writing with my authentic voice, which is my self-expression and crucial for the final output. I just get it to clean my speech up grammatically and break it into paragraphs. I still prefer it to transcription apps because I can do that. Editing transcripts is waaaay too overwhelming.

This time, I got the second license for the web version, and I love that all my Letterly voice notes from the phone are synced; it makes it even easier to access and select what I need to edit. Highly recommend for anyone from content creators and writers, to team collaborations, or simply recording personal thoughts to be able to process life out loud!

Okay, so here's my review of Letterly AI, I really enjoy this software, it's very easy to use and kind of intuitive. I'm actually currently writing the review, or speaking the review as it were. Haha, recording the review in real time using Letterly AI transcribing feature. It's pretty nice and sleek looking, I really enjoy the whole rewriter options and you can customize new rewriters to fit your style that you like, I've been having a lot of fun with that. I think the only thing I dislike about it is trying to delete some of the custom rewriters that you make. I can't find where to delete that, or where to delete them at. So far the microphone recordings seem to be doing great, and it captures everything perfectly. I've been looking at the translations and they seem to be doing pretty well, I don't speak any other languages, but you know, just playing around with the features, but I really enjoy this app and I'll might invest in another code sooner or later, just to have it on a different device because this is a really fun app to play with.
