This software changed name only to be sold as a whole business secretly. No communication from lead developer, no warning. Total cash grab. Stay away from Afforai and any other software it's developer might create in the future. Or you can buy it as a whole business on Flippa for overpriced 1 Million USD.

I used the app and it was useful. But no BYOK, a change of name and now up for sale, does not look good for LTDers.

Bought Tier 1 for this and now they are removing BYOK from July 2025 so stuck with a product that only offers Haiku 3.5 and GPT-4o Mini even though much better models are available.

Wish I had not purchased this now. The BYOK was part of Tier 1 deal. They should not be allowed back on AppSumo again.

The product is pretty useless and the latest LLMs like Gemini do better with research/reasoning etc. The rebrand is also confusing. The UI is outdated and small text, no very easy to use.

Give this one a miss if it appears again, trust me!

The support is not able to change the email address for logging into the account. I have bought a lot of software, also from Appsumo. But until today, even if it should or could be changed manually via the support staff in person, there was always a possibility to change an email address. But here at Afforai, which is now called something else (no idea what that's all about ?!), you program an elaborate app and then you are not able to change an email address of an account ? I have never seen anything like this in my 30+ years of experience in the IT industry. I don't even want to use this app anymore, not to mention the other negative conspicuous features regarding the final results that the app/software aims to achieve.

Based on other reviews, and of course my own negative experiences, I come to the conclusion: Afforai is useless!

PS: Meanwhile there are other alternatives that do it better and cheaper ! The support puts off the problem of changing the email address, guess what, to Appsumo - that's just ridiculous!

Unreliable information is generated most of the time, imprecise answers are given, and it cannot learn from your corrections. You cannot use it for any kind of serious work. AVOID!

This AI tool is completely unreliable for any purposes. After several tests with a single and multiple documents, it consistently generated hallucinated and incorrect information instead of extracting actual content. Unfortunately, this makes it entirely useless for anything. I don't understand all good reviews. This tool is very disappointing - I wish I could refund.

After testing this with a single doc, the AI consistently hallucinates and provides incorrect information. This cannot be used for reliable research unfortunately and i wish I could refund. Absolutely useless software that was grossly over hyped. How any serious academic or researcher can use this is beyond me.

THE GOOD:
I haven't seen anything else quite like this tool, which can combine several documents for review and analysis.

THE BAD:
The results can be insightful, but can also be EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE. It will get simple things like page numbers dead wrong. You'll correct it, and it will provide some indication that it is learning ("...I won't make that mistake again...") and then it will immediately make the same mistake. In my experience it gets page numbers wrong more than half the time. It's still a net positive. It provides good summaries, but make sure you know the gist of everything it's reviewing...you'll have to do A LOT of manual QC.

Have tried most of AI research tool, afforai seems to the best and precise the only downside is on iPad the text highlight do not work. No compain for the $$$ paid, wish I have gotten tier 3 instead.

I initially purchased Afforai due to its promising capabilities and even upgraded my subscription during a promotional period. However, I've encountered significant issues with the service that have impacted my ability to utilize the product effectively.
The primary concern is that my monthly credits ceased to be issued approximately one month ago, rendering the service essentially unusable. This is particularly problematic as I had intended to implement Afforai's API for automation purposes in my workflow.
My attempts to resolve this issue through their customer support channels have been unsuccessful, with no response to my inquiries. The lack of communication and resolution is concerning for a paid service.
While the product concept remains sound, these operational and support issues make it difficult for me to recommend Afforai to potential users at this time.

This tool is much more than what you see here - it has really helped me a lot in my work, in my writing, in my research, and even in my studies.

This app is an absolute disaster. It's a half-baked, overpriced piece of junk that consistently spits out inaccurate results, often missing the mark by a wide margin. The AI is sluggish and unresponsive, even when tasked with simple queries about a single document.
Customer support is a joke. They're utterly indifferent to the problems faced by both regular users and team leaders.
The pricing model is baffling. The exorbitant fees for both limited-time deals and subscriptions are completely unjustified, especially considering the poor performance and lack of real value. There are numerous cheaper and more reliable alternatives available.
I cannot stress this enough: Do not waste your money on this app. It's a complete waste of time and resources. Invest your hard-earned money in a quality product that actually delivers.
